Quarter
& Paint Horses
At Cotton Creek Ranch , our
Quarter and Paint horses are raised right along side our Brangus and
Brahman cattle herd. The steep terrain and rocky hillsides are the
perfect combination in making sturdy, surefooted, dependable horses.
Our horses learn at a very young age how to navigate hills,
cross-creeks, and avoid predators. They must travel up and down hills to
graze and find water. We believe that a young horse should be allowed
to, "just be a horse." They are continually learning survival
and socialization skills in an "unpampered" environment.
During foaling season, our brood mares are continually monitored before
and after foaling. The foals are halter exposed within days of birth as
our team, including our two young daughters, begin the process of
gentling them. When the mares have bred back, dam and foal are returned
to the herd, where they graze and develop their foals in the tough hills
of our ranch. They are continually brought back to the barn for
deworming, vaccinations, farrier work, and further human contact.
Cotton
Creek Ranch currently stands two AHQA stallions. They are:
Tops
Major Bar, a 16 hand chestnut with tremendous disposition.

We are very proud of
the performance of our stallions and their progeny. Improving our
breeding program is always an exciting and on going process. We work
hard at making sturdy, versatile, dependable horses with dispositions to
match. Once you have a "hill raised" horse from Cotton Creek
Ranch, you'll never be satisfied with anything else. |
